Abigail Chase was born approximately May of 1822.1 She married Timothy Morrill on 25 Oct 1847 in Sebec, Piscataquis County, Maine.2 They had at least eight children:

  • George Morrill, born about 1848 (probably died before 1860)
  • Jeremiah Morrill, born about 1849
  • Franklin Morrill, born about 1851
  • Malvin Morrill, born about 1853
  • Mary Morrill, born about 1854
  • Abbie Morril, born about 1856
  • Ann Morrill, born about 1858
  • Eben Morrill, born about 1859 (appeared on the 1870 Census, after Abigail’s death in 1866)3

Abigail appeared on the 1850 US Census in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine, living with her husband Timothy, a seventeen year old woman named Mary Chase, sons George and Jeremiah Morrill, aged two and 1 year, respectively, and a boarder Richard Gleason. Abigail is twenty six years old, and the enumerator recorded her birthplace as Maine and Timothy’s as England. I do not know who Mary Chase was, but she’s close enough in age to Abigail that she could be a sister.4

Abigail appeared on the 1860 US Census in Bangor. She was thirty nine years old. In the household are also Timothy, and children Jeremiah, Franklin, Malvin, Mary, Abbie, and Ann. George would have been twelve this year, so he was either living elsewhere or had died. This enumerator recorded Timothy’s birthplace as Ireland.5

Abigail Chase Morrill died 25 Mar 1866.6
