Bertha D. Leathers was born Bertha Fogg on 03 Apr 1891 to Arthur S. Fogg and Annie M. Scripture1,2.

Bertha appeared on the 1900 and 1910 US Federal Censuses in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine, living with her parents on Ohio Street3,4. She married Clayton G. Leathers on 20 Jul 1910 in Bangor5. They had at least one child:

  1. Randall C. Leathers, born about 1913

Bertha appears on the 1920 US Census in Bangor, again on Ohio Street, living with her husband and son Randall6. She next appears on the 1930 US Census in West Hartford, Hartford County, Connecticut with Clayton and Randall7. I have not been able to locate Bertha or Clayton on the 1940 US Census, but Clayton G. Leathers (and wife Bertha D) is found in a 1941 directory of the city of Bangor, living on RFD #4 off of Ohio Street8. He also appears in Bangor city directories from 1931 to 1937, so the Leathers’ stay in Connecticut must have been a short one.

Bertha D. Fogg Leathers died in 1954 in Bangor9.

GPS Coordinates: Latitude 44.8339167, Longitude -68.8107750.
