Cordelia B. Clark was born Cordelia B. Tozier, daughter of William Tozier and Mary Ann Waning, in 1827 in Augusta, Kennebec County, Maine1. She married Webster Clark *some time before 1848 and together they had at least nine children:

  1. Amanda M. born abt. 1848 (may have died as an infant)
  2. Nancy J. born abt. 1850 (may have died as a child)
  3. Susen Melinda born abt. 1853
  4. Robert F. born abt. 1855
  5. James W. born 07 Dec 1857 in Hudson, Penobscot, Maine2
  6. John T. born 04 Jan 1860 in Hudson3
  7. Mary A. born 27 Jan 1862 in Hudson4
  8. George H. born abt. 1866
  9. Charles D. born abt. 1869

Cordelia B. Clark appears on the 1850 US Federal Census in Kirkland, Penobscot, Maine5. Her infant daughters Amanda M. and Nancy J. appear on this census, but not on later ones, and I believe that they may have died very young.

Cordelia next appears on the 1860 US Federal Census in Hudson, Penobscot, Maine6. There are four living children in the household.

On the 1870 US Federal Census, the Clark family is still in Hudson7, with seven living children in the household.

Cordelia B. Clark is on the 1880 US Federal Census in Bangor, Penobscot, Maine on 17th Street8.

Cordelia died from heart disease on 22 Mar 1898 in Bangor at about 69 years of age9,10,11.

* No marriage record has been found for Webster and Cordelia, but their first known child was born in 1848.
